Visual Guide to Kolek’s Brilliance

I came across a really good video on Twitter that highlighted Tyler Kolek’s special passing ability passing under pressure, and after going through coach Drew Dunlop’s full timeline, found 3 additional breakdowns. They are an incredible reminder that Tyler’s passing isn’t just limited to pick and roll proficiency, and a great taste of what we can expect all season.

Paint Touch Passes

Did someone say paint touches?

This is an area where Kolek’s impressive progression from 2022 to 2023 has paid the most dividends. Teams have to take his rim attacks seriously because he proved he could finish at the rim, where he hit at at 56.7% last season, up from 46% in 2022.

Oso & Tyler Show

I could watch this on a loop for an hour. I might have already. There’s no better duo in the country than these 2 and we are so fortunate to get another year of them wearing blue and gold.

Connector Passing

Kolek knows where every player is at seemingly at all times. Giving shooters that extra half second, particularly off the baseline inbounds is such a gift.

Passing Under Pressure

Kolek’s level of difficulty on a good number of his passes means not all of them get to the intended target. But even in these broken plays, he’s able to give his shooters an advantage.

The accolades will continue to roll in all preseason, because they are incredibly well earned.
