Marquette 2026 game by game projections

In the interest of accountability, I could write 2,000 words on everything I see happening with Marquette this season and how statistically speaking, this team shakes out. But to be honest, I think Alan Bykowski of Cracked Sidewalks did an incredible job of the positives and negative. READ THIS!

I also think there are so many questions about the roster and the MU project, and it’s difficult to really say with any certainty what I think will happen. But to be honest. I think Andy Fleck of Anonymous Eagle already laid it out perfectly. READ THAT!

And if you want to see what some of my expectations from a player perspective are, well I covered that last week a bit.

So that just leaves us with laying down a projection for how I think this season will go, based on what both the numbers and my gut indicate. To me, this feels like a Tier 2 Big East team that gets to 20 wins, and a 12-8 conference record. I think MU finishes somewhere between 28 and 42 in the KP ratings ands up with a lower seed 7/8/9/10 range.

Because I love to increase sample sizes on something as subjective as this, I reached out for input from some chat peeps, to help get to an aggregate game by game projection. Each column represents 1 person’s projection, and the final column is the average, wins divided by responders (14 in this case).

Putting that all together, we come up with an aggregate record of 20.6-10.4, which is a bit more bullish than my prediction, but right in that ballpark.

If you want to take an optimistic view, there is one person who thinks MU will reach 25 wins. If you want the pessimistic one, 17 is the low number.

Now, there haven’t been any games, projections like these don’t carry a ton of weight on their own, other than to look back on in a few months and make fun of. But as mentioned in the minutes projection, it also helps to be grounded in assessing the success/failure of a season. Not that it makes a difference ultimately, but helps me from completely overreacting.
