If you’ve been a loyal Paint Touches reader since our inception in 2011, you’ve probably noticed (or read) about my infatuation with Marquette’s uniforms past and present. Heck, one of the first columns I ever wrote was a ranking of my personal favorites.
If you follow Paint Touches on Twitter, chances are you’ve seen me gush about 19nine’s Marquette apparel a few hundred times over the last decade or so. Not only do they have the coolest, most unique Marquette apparel in the world, bringing back tons of retired logos and looks, the quality and comfort is off-the-charts impressive.
So you can imagine my chagrin when they reached out offering to give the #mubb crowd a little offseason treat.
That’s right, all you have to do to be eligible is follow them on Twitter and reply or quote-Tweet the post, so I know where to find you. I’ll select a winner on Aug 30th.
And as if that wasn’t enough, they have also given us a unique promo code to take 20% off of your order at checkout. Even off sale items.
I know this is already a weird post because it has 0 references to Synergy or KenPom, but I’m not even schilling to be a good promo partner. I’ve never gotten paid to praise the 19nine apparel and yet my drawers and closet are full of them. I honestly wear at least 1 piece a week, and usually closer to 3.
Here are my personal favorites:
1.) Quarter Zip

Simply put, the best Marquette gear I have ever owned. It’s not super warm (which makes it good to wear to games) and runs a bit small, but the colors are impecable, it withstands lots of washes and it looks like nothing any MU fan wears. Except for the hundreds of other fans that wear this. Seriously, it has had to be restocked at least twice in the past 18 months, if you are thinking about a new go-to for gameday next season, this is the way to go.
2. 1977 Champs Tee

As I wasn’t born for another couple of decades, I don’t have any OG 1977 merch in my closet. But this shirt, is a replica that lets me strut as if I had. I’ve had a few instances of people stop me in random places when they saw it. And outside of the awesome design, these tees are incredibly comfortable. My original purchase from 2015 was a t-shirt that I still wear to this day and has the same vibrancy and no rips or holes like you’d expect after 8 years of heavy use.
3. Retro Script Hoodie

A replica of one of my favorite uniforms, this hoodie is so warm and soft I had to order another one because my wife wouldn’t give it back. Need anything else be said?
Honorable mentions
There seriously are too many awesome pieces to limit it to just 3, and there are still a few I have to get my hands on.

Don’t forget to take advantage of the 20% discount as well and use promo code “PaintedTouches” at checkout.

My favorite Marquette uniform was the shirt out design by Bo Ellis. It was the first uniform developed by a player.
