According to a press release from Marquette Athletics, freshman forward Juan Anderson will miss three to four weeks with a shoulder injury.
“Juan injured his shoulder yesterday in practice,” coach Buzz Williams said in the press release. “Becuase of Juan’s work ethic and character, he had worked himself back into a rhythm and flow with our team. We are disappointed by the timing of this, but have full confidence in Juan and our staff that he will be back as soon as he is completely healed.”
Anderson who was suspended for the first three games of the regular season for accepting tickets to a Brewers game had worked his way back into the rotation after being the No. 11 man on coach Buzz Williams’ bench.
Against Wisconsin Anderson played seven minutes, grabbed five rebounds, one assist, one block, and two points. The two points came on a reverse layup were part of a 6-0 run in which Marquette opened up a 47-40 lead.
The injury to Anderson comes a day after Marquette learned redshirt junior center Chris Otule had suffered an injury to his left ACL. No timetable has yet been announced with regards to Otule’s injury.
