The Paint Touches crew has touched down in Louisville and is ready to provide unprecedented coverage of Marquette’s quest to repeat 2003. Well, unprecedented may be a bit strong but you get the picture.
We will start off with a few clips of the open practice held at the YUM! Center today, with more in depth articles to come.
The Kentucky legion was out early, taking in some of the open practice of the team that has owned them in the tourney as of late. Marquette fans were sparse, but somewhat vocal.
Here are the Marquette “bigs” practicing their long range game.
The “bigs” again, this time working on their baseline jumpers.
Watch as Juan Anderson shows a taste of the athleticism that made him such a highly touted recruit.
Practice wrapped up with about five minutes of half-court heaves as Derrick Wilson claimed the crown hitting three or four on about 20 attempts. Coach Buzz Williams gave it his best to get the crowd going, shooting half-court shots with his players and hitting rim almost every time but to no avail.
Overall Marquette didn’t show much in the practice, not that I was expecting any different but got a little taste of how tight the rims here at the YUM! Center are, not that they needed a reminder after last year’s fiasco.
